How it is built
- Core: grain-oriented silicon steel, mitred step-lap, treated against corrosion.
- Winding: cast resin under vacuum, copper or aluminium conductor.
- Insulation: class F, temperature rise 100 K; class H on request.
- Enclosure: IP00 to IP54, with or without a sheet-steel housing.
- Cooling: AN; forced air (AF) with a temperature controller on request.
Options and accessories
Tap changer
Off-circuit ±2 × 2.5%, or an on-load tap changer.
Winding material
Copper or aluminium, to the loss figures you need to meet.
Protection
Pressure relief device, gas relay, oil level and temperature indicators.
Terminations
HV cable box or bushings, LV busbar or cable box.
Monitoring
Winding temperature indicator with alarm and trip contacts.
Finish
Standard industrial paint, or the colour your utility specifies.
Standards and testing
- Routine tests on every unit: winding resistance, ratio and vector group, insulation resistance, impedance voltage, separate-source and induced voltage withstand.
- Type tests on request: temperature rise, lightning impulse, short-circuit withstand.
- Designed and tested to IEC 60076. IEEE and ANSI practice applied for 60 Hz designs.
- A test report in English goes out with every transformer.
