An industrial transformer feeds production equipment: motors, drives, furnaces, compressors, pumps, process lines and the ancillary building services that keep a plant running.

Industrial duty is harder than commercial duty. Loads are often continuous, unbalanced and rich in harmonics from variable speed drives and rectifiers. Our industrial designs take that into account — through winding configuration, K-factor or harmonic consideration, cooling margin and insulation class — so the transformer does not become the bottleneck that stops your line.

Manufacturing, Testing and Standards

Every unit is built under documented process control and subjected to routine tests before dispatch: winding resistance, voltage ratio and vector group, impedance voltage and load loss, no-load loss and current, applied and induced voltage dielectric tests, and functional checks of accessories. Type tests — including lightning impulse, temperature rise and short-circuit withstand — are available for new designs and project requirements. See our testing and quality control pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

The difference is duty. Industrial loads run longer, start larger motors, and produce more harmonics. Industrial designs therefore use a higher insulation class, more cooling margin and winding configurations that cope with unbalanced and non-linear load.
Often yes. Drives and rectifiers generate harmonics that heat the winding beyond what the fundamental current suggests. If a large share of your load is drives, tell us the share and we will size accordingly or propose a K-rated design.
Yes, within limits. Send us the largest motor rating and starting method (direct-on-line, star-delta, soft starter or VSD) and we will check the voltage dip and thermal effect.
At minimum winding temperature indication with alarm and trip contacts. For oil filled units, oil level and Buchholz relay. Hebei Youge Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. for the monitoring packages you offer.
